In Memory....

My first post will be a tribute to my Dad.  After all, this week has been all about him and he would have loved that, ha!

Yesterday was his funeral.  A very, very tough day but I survived.  

I was able to speak which made me very happy.  The hardest part was of the service was picking up his urn after the service and handing it to my sister (she's in a wheel chair), and pushing her and him out to the hurst.  sigh.

This was his last ride to his final destination to the Land of the Cross.

I did go sit with him last night and was very much at peace.  The sunset was beautiful, the birds were chirrping and it was just so calm.  If he can't be with us, that will just have to be ok.  I sat on the ground and talked to him (this time though, I had the last word, lol).  I cried a few tears and fixed his flowers then left him to rest.  I love that he's only about 13 minutes from my house.  Yay!  

So here's to the start of a new blog and 'good-bye' to my Dad.  I miss him so but promised to "Keep Calm and Carry On".  That's what he wanted.
